Akron teen killed during fight in parking lot of LeBron’s I Promise School, police say

AKRON, Ohio — A 17-year-old boy was killed after he was beaten during a fight with other males in the parking lot of the I Promise School in the Highland Square neighborhood, police say.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says Ethan Liming, 17, of Akron, was pronounced dead at the scene late Thursday night. A cause of death has not been released.

According to police, officers were called to the parking lot on the 400 block of West Market Street at about 10:43 p.m. When they arrived, they found Liming unconscious in the parking lot near the school’s basketball courts. Police say Liming had “severe” injuries.
